Crystal Healing: An Interview with Nicole Lanning
For this issue, LightWork interviewed Nicole Lanning, author of Practical Crystal Healing: 555 Tips & Techniques. She works with the Healing Art Forms Institute in Toledo, Ohio, USA. Why did you start working with crystals? Crystals were such an intriguing part of my life growing up. I was drawn to them as a child and thought they were pretty, shiny rocks. Once I was old enough to take seminars, classes, workshops, and purchase books, I started learning more and more about their wonderful uses in our every day life. My love for these wonderful crystals started as a young child with an energetic connection and grew into a love for healing with these pieces of Mother Earth’s beauty! Why are crystals so important, and what makes them good healers? Crystals can be used by anyone and everyone for healing purposes, as this is what makes them so special. They were given to us by Mother Earth, and we all have access to them! No one has to study this work in school for years to be able to use their wonderful healing abilities. They vibrate at different frequencies and can increase our own vibrational output to match, which in turn helps our physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual bodies heal. This can be done for human beings, our animal counterparts, plants, trees, energy grids and lines running through places, as well as clearing of energies. Can you describe a crystal healing experience that was meaningful or profound for you? I have been working with crystals and healing work for so long, it is hard to narrow them down to just one of the many profound experiences I have had. But I will share with you one of the best techniques and tips I came across on my own crystal healing pathway many years ago when wanting to develop my work even more to help others. At the time, which I think everyone can relate to at some point in his/her life, I wanted more money to come in. I started playing with the different crystals for money aspects to see which one would work best for me. I did this and came across Pyrite and putting this with a positive form of money. I wrapped a dollar bill around a piece of Pyrite and carried this with me in my pocket so I could have my own energetic connection with this. At the end of a month time period I had collected over $100 in single dollar bills I had found. They were all over the place when I looked down—in the parking lot, on the floor at the store, everywhere as if they had fallen from the sky! I did this later on with my own children and placed this in a change jar. In a one-week time span, we found over $20 in change alone. How does crystal consciousness differ from our own, and how should we relate to and communicate with these amazing beings? Crystals have their own unique consciousness and energy signature, even for crystals of the same category, as they are all their own unique, individual "living rocks." They came from Mother Earth and have their own story to tell by their shape, size, color, harness, inclusions, healing abilities, and so much more. Personally I have found it very easy to communicate and work with crystals, as we as humans have blockages placed within our DNA structures, our upbringing, and even in today’s society with the negative influences around us. Crystals are our living pieces of Mother Earth that we can use to help not only heal our physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects, but they can also guide us along our pathway with meditations, energy generation, and their stored knowledge from within. These are easy to read, understand, and work with. Following your own intuition is the best advice on working with crystals and their ability to teach us. In your experience, how are crystals changing as human consciousness changes? What role do they play in this shift? Each new set and layer of crystals that are unearthed are changing in such vast ways from their own stored knowledge. As our consciousness changes, so does the vibrational level and consciousness of Mother Earth. So in turn as the Earth is absorbing these frequency changes, the crystals are changing to fit our needs for knowledge, wisdom, expansion, awareness, and enlightenment. Each new layer is unfolding more and more of these key information tactics for us to learn from, share, and grow into a move evolved state of being, not only for our generation, but for all of those yet to come.
