What is God?
by Asha Hawkesworth

Angel Nebula

Angel Nebula

God is

a soft breeze, scattering dandelion seeds across the meadow.

a thunderstorm, chaotic and deafening.

a patch of moss in the crevice of a tree.

particles of sand, washing across the dunes.

ocean waves, lapping the shore or pounding the rocks in the heart of a storm.

a mountain, contemplating the thousand years that seem like a day.

a volcano, giving birth to a new landscape.

a spider web.

a spider building a web.

an insect trapped in a spider web.

an elk, grazing in remote meadows.

a man.

a woman.

white, brown, black, yellow, red, painted, tattooed, pierced.

straight, gay, lesbian, transexual, transvestite.

atheist, agnostic, Christian, Muslim, Jew, Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh, Native American, shaman, witch.

Democrat, Republican, communist, socialist, fascist, anarchist.

wealthy, poor, homeless, healthy, sick, addicted.

the earth.

the moon.

the sun.

the planets.

the galaxy.

the Universe.

light.

darkness.

formless.

all there is.

YOU.
